A five-day destination photography workshop in Srinagar in Kashmir, for photographers who want to immerse themselves in a place known for its quiet beauty, layered culture and deep sense of hospitality. The workshop invites participants to slow down and engage with Srinagar’s landscapes, waterways and old neighbourhoods, learning how daily life, craft and faith shape the visual rhythm of the city. From life on the floating markets of Dal Lake to the lanes of the old city, the experience encourages thoughtful observation and patient image making.

Designed as a balance between guided field work, conversation and reflection, the workshop focuses on working with natural light, respect for place and building a cohesive body of work. Shared meals and time spent experiencing Kashmiri food and hospitality add an essential cultural layer, allowing participants to understand the city beyond the frame. With close guidance and a small group setting, this is an experience rooted in immersion, craft and a deeper way of seeing.

Join Sanjit Das and Suzanne Lee, both acclaimed documentary photographers who have lived in India and have worked in Kashmir over two decades. They will be your instructors in helping you translate the soul of Srinagar into a powerful visual narrative. Drawing on their combined experience as award-winning practitioners, editors, and jurors, they offer participants thoughtful guidance in shaping a cohesive, personal body of work, one that is visually resonant, culturally aware, and grounded in meaningful engagement with place.

Each day will be filled with rich and engaging interactions, with a balance of shooting sessions, group discussions, and learning moments. Both will spend time with everyone, offering one-on-one guidance in the field and making himself available for questions throughout the day. The atmosphere is supportive and inspiring, and participants are encouraged to approach the workshop with a good dose of openness to share and learn from each other.

Expect it to be a culturally engaging few days that will be challenging but deeply rewarding.
